Travelling through 31 countries and covering more than 30,000km, the pair set three official world records along the way.
Platinum Live’s role was to take their remarkable story to national and international audiences, developing a sustained PR campaign that followed their journey, celebrated key milestones and brought attention to the important cause behind the challenge.
Working closely with the PR and communications teams at JustGiving, UNICEF and Guinness World Records, we coordinated media opportunities, interviews and announcements throughout the campaign, ensuring the story reached audiences far beyond the cycling community.
The campaign secured extensive coverage across major national and international outlets, including Sky News, CNN, BBC Radio 4, ITV News, the Daily Mail, The Mirror and Cycling Weekly. It also attracted support from Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman, helping to bring further attention to the challenge and its charitable purpose.
Together, the coverage generated an estimated earned media reach of more than 50 million, transforming an extraordinary father-and-son adventure into a story followed around the world, while raising awareness of UNICEF’s work and the fundraising campaign behind it.
“A dynamic and well-connected agency who really helped us realise our goals.”
